Course Description
Recovery and rehabilitation after a stroke can take months or even years, leaving some with permanent loss of function. This course explores the effects of stroke and outlines strategies and treatments to support a person affected by a stroke.

Joe Dent Joe Dent is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for stroke in the busiest stroke centre in the UK. He currently teaches stroke care to preregistration paramedics at four universities within the UK. Prior to this role he was a Paramedic working in pre hospital medicine for 26 years. He has a very keen interest in educating paramedics in the recognition of stroke by paramedics and is developing this education to those who look after stroke survivors within the chronic and acute phase of their treatment. Joe is also involved in the scientific and organisation committee for the UK stroke conference.
