Course Description
This course explores the different types of abuse, the signs and indicators, the principles and legislation underpinning adult safeguarding, and the actions required to prevent, recognise, respond to, and report abuse.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
* Explain the meaning of adult safeguarding, including the six principles.
* Recognise the signs and indicators associated with different types of adult abuse.
* Work in a person-centred way to reduce the risk of abuse.
* Understand duty of care and duty of candour in relation to safeguarding.
* Respond appropriately to suspected or disclosed abuse.
* Follow agreed ways of working, including reporting, documenting and escalating concerns.
* Understand multi-agency safeguarding arrangements and how local systems work.
* Identify what is meant by restrictive practices, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS).
