Update on the Annual Provider Information Return (PIR)

September 25, 2019 |

New information has recently been released from the CQC. As most people are aware, there has been significant talk about changing the Provider Information Return (PIR). This is a document all CQC providers have always had to complete, which usually comes around the time an inspection is due.

It was proposed to introduce something different – potentially a ‘live’ document, called the Provider Information Collection (PIC). This document could be edited by the Provider at any time but requested annually to do so by the CQC.

After some trialling, it appears now that the CQC will not be actioning the PIC further.

Instead, providers will be receiving a revised, much shorter PIR to be completed annually.
