Cherise Gyimah is a pharmacist living in the United Kingdom, with extensive experience in managing polypharmacy and deprescribing, care co-ordination, transfer of care and managing medicines in social care settings. She has worked as a Specialist Pharmacy Advisor with the Care Quality Commission and supported the work of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), reviewing their quick guides for social care providers, as well as presenting on their series of webinars.

Esther Ruth Beck was formerly a staff nurse on acute medical wards in Whitabbey Hospital and the Royal Victoria Hospital, as well as a former manager of a 65 bed care home. She has completed her Specialist Nursing Practice in Palliative Care and her Specialist Nursing Practice in Dementia Care and is currently undertaking her PhD in End of Life Care for People with Dementia at the University of Ulster. She is a Member of the European Academy of Nursing Scientists and a Member of the Irish Association of Palliative Care.

Scott Wilkinson has been the Cluster Dining Services Coordinator for Sunrise Senior Living for the past 10 years. His previous employment includes time served in the British Army, where he completed his training and qualified as a Chef. He has also worked in both the restaurant and hotel sectors and had numerous roles with Sodexo Healthcare before joining Sunrise. Having worked in healthcare for over 16 years, he has a vast experience working with older people and the special dietary requirements which are required in this sector. Passionate about food and in providing the best service to the customer, he also has an extensive knowledge in both specialised and healthier diets, for which he is EDI qualified.

With a career spanning more than 33 years, Jenny Gibson brings extensive expertise to the health and social care sector. Starting as a volunteer, she pursued nurse training, and later advanced to roles including Director of Nursing and specialist advisor for the Care Quality Commission (CQC). These positions highlight her comprehensive experience and strong leadership within the sector. Today, Jenny provides training and consultancy services, dedicating herself to enhancing the quality of care delivered to all clients, to ensure they receive the highest standard of service. Her qualifications include RGN, BSc (Hons), PGCE, and MCMI.

Angela Hartley is a Cardiac Nurse with over 20 years of experience. She completed her training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, before moving to the UK in 2008. She has a wide variety of cardiac nursing experience, from ward nursing, pre and post op cardiac surgery nursing, to her current role in Cardiac Rehabilitation. She enjoys teaching others about heart health and raising awareness about preventing heart disease.

Seamus is an independent Safeguarding Trainer and Consultant who works across a number of Local Authorities in London and the South East and has worked within the health and social care field for almost 25 years. A qualified trainer and coach, Seamus has specialised in Safeguarding since 2004, he has a proven track record in the delivery and promotion of safe, high quality services that support positive outcomes for service users, carers, families and the organisations that support them.Mick has sound knowledge of the care sector, learning and development, equality and diversity, cultural change and the ability to translate complex legal guidance and procedures into practical easy to follow solutions. “I have a passion for people and organisational development to raise performance and improve care services throughout the UK.” He worked at East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service for 7 years as the Equality and Diversity Manager, trained all 900 staff on a two-day equality course and supported senior managers with the cultural change agenda. He also worked at the Child Support Agency as a trainer and Executive Officer and prior to that worked as a National Insurance Inspector at the Department of Work and Pensions. Mick is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD), a qualified coach (CMI Level 5) and won the Communities and Local Government Individual Award for “Leadership” for his work with the disabled community in 2008.

Jill Timms is a qualified nurse and currently works as a Quality Assurance Manager for Peverel Court Care. Jill also runs a nurse consultancy ‘Helping Managers Manage’ where she is a Care Consultant for care homes requiring assistance in preparing for CQC/LA inspections. Prior to Jill establishing this business, she managed a care home for many years and was also an Area Manager for a care home group based in South East England. Jill enjoys keeping abreast of developments in the sector and sharing her knowledge across a range of areas related to nursing management in aged care.

Dr Sevim Hodge is a Clinical Academic Nurse with a special interest in the care of older adults. Her PhD research focused on acute deterioration in frail older adults in care homes with an emphasis on recognition and response and the use of acute deterioration tools in practice. Her clinical experience includes acute hospital and care home settings. She is also skilled in academic writing, clinical research, literature reviews and project management. Sevim undertook her PhD with the National Institute of Health & Social Care Research, Applied Research Collaboration, East Midlands (NIHR – ARC-EM). She successfully obtained a NIHR award to undertake a MA in Research Methods at the University of Nottingham (completed in 2018).

Hilary is the Executive Director of NAPA, a national charity and membership organisation supporting the sector to prioritise wellbeing. NAPA provides a range of support services that enable activity, arts and engagement. Hilary is responsible for all aspects of the charity's work. Before joining NAPA, Hilary held operational, service improvement, workforce development and consultancy roles for health, housing and social care providers. She has worked in local government, the NHS and the private and voluntary sectors. Hilary has a special and enduring interest in the care of support of people living with dementia, their families, and the staff who work alongside them. She is especially motivated by an interest in how people in receipt of care and support spend their day. She believes creating opportunities for meaningful interaction and companionship is central to good quality care and support in all settings.

Nicola Burton is a Registered Nurse and Learning and Development professional with a background in nursing, who loves to see staff implement practice change through targeted education. Nicola's background is in the acute care sector and since 2003, she has been working in the aged care sector.

Marie Riding is a registered nurse with over 20 years NHS experience and has worked in the field of continence care for the past 16 years. Leading the Continence Service for CNWL-MK, Marie has played a key role in expanding the service provided to patients in the local community and care homes and has raised the profile of continence care across her organisation. She is frequently invited to speak at local and national healthcare/educational events providing continence care, advice, and guidance.

Philippa Shirtcliffe is passionate about promoting positive outcomes for people and supporting teams to provide outstanding care. Trained as a nurse after 10 years in the NHS, Philippa has spent over 20 years working for large domiciliary and residential care providers in the UK. Starting out as a care co-ordinator, she managed multi-site branches, led a business development team and had national responsibility for whistleblowing and safeguarding. These roles fuelled her enthusiasm for the establishment of good governance frameworks within care services. Philippa has been developing and writing policies and procedures for over 15 years and is Head of Care Quality at QCS. She retains her nurse registration.

Fazeela Hafejee is the director of Aeonian Solutions and has over 20 years’ senior strategic leadership experience in the Health and Social Care field as a Social Worker. She qualified as one of the first independent Mental Capacity Act (IMCA) professionals in 2005. Fazeela’s social work experience gives her a unique perspective from which to develop rapport and build relationships with diverse clients. She has extensive experience of supporting individuals who need care and support, their families and/or carers and organisations to meet their needs. She is passionate about social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversity and inclusion.

With over 20 years’ experience as a qualified Dietitian, Alison has extensive knowledge of dysphagia and nutrition and for the last 6 years Alison has worked as a Prescribing Support Dietitian within a Clinical Commissioning Group. Her role focuses on appropriate prescribing of all products relating to nutrition, with a particular remit for appropriate prescribing of oral nutritional supplements and appropriate identification and treatment of malnutrition. Alison’s particular interests include malnutrition, care homes, dysphagia and dementia, and prior to her current job held a clinical role specialising in nutrition support for older people in care homes and the wider community, as well as nutrition support including tube feeding for people with progressive neurological conditions. Alison is the chair of the Older People Specialist Group of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and has represented dietitians working with older people on the IDDSI UK External Reference Group since its inception.

Sally-Ann Remnant has worked within the field of epilepsy for over 20 years. First trained as a nurse for disabilities she quickly moved on to support those with complex epilepsy. Initially as a community disability nurse in south London, a matron for an epilepsy charity, then epilepsy specialist nurse for Surrey. More recently Sally-Ann has worked as a nurse practitioner in epilepsy for Guys and St Thomas’ London where she also gained her medical MSc in epileptology from King’s College. Here she gained recognition for her research into “ a link between constipation and seizures frequency” and was given the Bateman award. Sally-Ann is a nurse prescriber and nurse consultant for her own company called Epilepsy Explained. She and her amazing colleagues provide bespoke training and consultancy across the UK.

Mike Betts is the Manual Handling Advisor for Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Trust. He has a Masters Degree in Back Care Management from Loughborough University and is a co-author of the 5th edition of The Guide to the Handling of People.

David Coleman has worked as a Health and Safety professional for over 15 years, the last 10 of which have been focused on the care and support sector. He is the owner of the first health and safety company in the UK to be a Registered Provider with Skills for Care. He has a wide range of expertise including COSHH, fire safety and legionella management and has worked with a number of care providers over the years to improve health and safety to benefit staff and clients alike.

Kelly Gowland is a registered Nursing Associate, working with a hospital setting from 2010, before joining a general practice in 2022. She has covered a wide range of nursing roles, including general medicine, acute medical, orthopaedics, dementia, Accident & Emergency and care of the elderly. Kelly is passionate about her role and enjoys being able to make a difference, putting patient care and safety at the centre of everything she does within her scope of practices. Her experience and knowledge is extensive, with daily nursing duties that include wound care, ECGs, injectable medicine, blood tests, flu and covid injection, asthma and COPD reviews, health checks and much more. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys travelling in the family campervan with ‘Millie’, her four-year-old dog.

Martin is a specialist Community Infection Control Matron with Liverpool and Merseyside Community Health Services (UK). He is part of a team of specially trained nurses who provide advice and support on all matters relating to Infectious diseases and illnesses, both to the public, healthcare workers and independent providers of healthcare, as well as community health staff and services. Martin has been working in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for 18 years within a variety of acute and community settings. He has published in a number of articles relating to IPC and decontamination and has developed the Infection Prevention Society - IPS/DOH audit tools for community settings. Martin is very active within the Infection Prevention Society, having been the community coordinator for many years. He received formal recognition at IPS conference Manchester 2017, when he received the national Brendan Moore award for his work with the society.

"Ian Hargreaves is an experienced laundry expert with over 40 years in the industry, having begun his career as a Laundry Manager in the NHS. After 25 years in NHS laundry management, Ian spent a brief time managing a private laundry company, including 2 processing facilities, with control over quality, production, and engineering and transport services, reporting directly to the company chairman. In 2004, he used his considerable knowledge and experience to form his own laundry consultancy firm, Laundry Solutions; his commissions have been in both private and public sector organisations and have contributed to cost reductions, improved quality and adherence to regulations and guidelines. He has undertaken projects throughout Europe, China, North Africa and the USA, improving standards of hygiene, prevention of cross infection and the transportation and delivery of clean linen for healthcare use."

Karen Slater (UK) is a Regional Director at MHA. The charity provides care, accommodation and support services for more than 17,000 older people throughout Britain, with 7,000 staff and 5,500 volunteers. With a background in leadership and managing culture changes across a variety of settings, Karen plays a key role in promoting MHA’s employee engagement scheme and is a passionate advocate for engaging leadership.

Julia is Team Leader of Wellbeing with The Silver Line, a charity working to fight loneliness among our older populations. It is the UK’s free and confidential helpline for older people who feel lonely or isolated. It is the only helpline apart from the Samaritans open every single day and night of the year.

Professor Gerry Wilson graduated in Medicine from Queen's University Belfast. He was awarded an Arthritis Research Clinical Fellowship for a PhD thesis which he undertook at the University of Sheffield. Subsequently awarded a Fellowship for research at Stanford University. He was appointed Professor in Rheumatology and Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at the University of Sheffield Medical School and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he was Head of the Sheffield EULAR Centre of Excellence for Rheumatology. He was appointed to the Arthritis Ireland/UCD Chair of Rheumatology in 2013 and leads the University College Dublin Centre for Arthritis Research. Gerry’s main interests are genetic mechanisms influencing tissue damage in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Amira Guirguis completed the MPharm degree from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and gained her PhD in the infield detection of new psychoactive substance (NPS) which cumulated in the publication of several papers and the JPAG's Geoffery Phillips award. Amira jointed the University of Hertfordshire as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Postgraduate Medicine, where she teaches on the MPharm, Pharmaceutical Science and Bioscience programmes.

Claire Rostron is a senior lecturer in health sciences at the open university , UK. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology (University of Strathclyde) and a PhD in neuroscience ( St Andrews university ). Claire has twenty years of teaching and research experience in biological psychology and mental health , including face to face blended and online learning.. She also works as an external examiner to quality assure teaching programmes in psychology and neuropsychology at other institutions. She has worked with the BBC to produce Television programs related to health and the human experience, and published academic and public audiences.

Stephanie qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2003 and has worked in the Milton Keynes Mental Health services ever since. Stephanie has specialised in older adults, mental health and dementia care since 2010. Stephanie became the Clinical Director of the Mental Health service in 2018 and continues in that role presently.

Dr Gráinne Kent is a CORU Registered Dietitian (Ireland) with 10 years of clinical experience in the UK and Ireland. Gráinne remains active in clinical practice in a consultancy capacity, specialising in care of the older person and those with intellectual disabilities in community settings. Gráinne completed her PhD in 2022 and continues to gain expertise in research and teaching at third-level institutes.

Ian Fisher is an Environmental Health Officer; as the Environmental Health Adviser to Trent Regional Health Authority and as a self-employed consultant, Ian has a wide experience of advising the care sector regarding Health & Safety.

Lending her expertise and answering your questions in the studio is Julie Van Onselen. Julie is a Dermatology Nurse Specialist and founded JVO Consultancy – education in dermatology. Julie’s work involves developing and producing a range of Dermatology educational projects on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry, the NHS, academic departments, professional groups and patient groups. In July 2012, Julie was awarded the Stone Award for Outstanding contribution to dermatological nursing by the British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG).

Dr. Maggie Kirkup is a Consultant Dermatologist and a founder member and Chair of the Senior Skin Group; a special interest group which aims to improve awareness of the special needs of elderly people with skin conditions by holding educational events and stimulating research in the field.

John Jarratt has spent 20 years working in customer service and leadership roles. Since 1994 he has worked as a Customer Service trainer, interim manager and consultant in a wide variety of organisations in over 20 countries. As well as experiencing Care Homes from a customer’s point of view with his elderly parents, John has also worked for many years with Care Homes as a trainer.

Professor Pat Schofield has a professional background in nursing and completed her PhD in 2001, which investigated management of chronic pain using sensory environments. Since then, Pat’s focus has been on the management of pain, particularly amongst older adults, and she has completed a number of major projects in this area, including self-management strategies for chronic pain management in older adults, and looking at pain assessment of those with cognitive impairment. Smaller projects have focused on the field of pain and ageing. Pat has led the development of national guidelines for pain assessment in adults and the management of pain in older adults. She is involved in the education of future clinicians; and is an examiner on the European Diploma in Pain Medicine. In 2019, Pat led the European Year against Pain in Vulnerable Populations and she is co-chair of the Global Year against Pain in Vulnerable Populations. Pat holds an honorary role as Professor of Pain & Ageing for Abertay University.

Dr Robert Johnson trained in Medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, qualifying in 1967. Specialist training in anaesthesia and pain management was undertaken in Bristol. This included a one year secondment to the University of Virginia Pain Studies Clinic in Charlottesville, USA where his interest in herpes zoster (HZ) started. In 1975, he was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia with Pain Management at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, UK. His clinical and research interest in HZ continued and he developed a specialist herpes zoster clinic for patients with zoster associated pain (ZAP). With his wife, a specialist research nurse, he undertook many studies mostly involved with prevention and management of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). His research led to the award of the degree of Doctor of Medicine in the University of Bristol. He has 73 publications on HZ in peer reviewed specialist journals and 8 chapters in textbooks. His current research interests include prevention of PHN by administration of low-dose amitriptyline, commenced soon after HZ has been diagnosed. He is also involved in the analysis of detailed notes and illustrations for 515 HZ sufferers studied by Henry Head, a neurologist, between 1890 and 1907. He is currently the Hon. Senior Research Fellow, Translational Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Bristol, UK.

Chris is a director at Methodist Homes (MHA), an Anglican priest and associate presbyter in the Methodist Church. At MHA, he provides spiritual leadership for the organisation and works with 140 chaplains to develop the work of spiritual and pastoral care. As a director, Chris served as a gold commander at MHA during the COVID-19 pandemic, co-ordinating the charity’s response to the biggest challenge of its 78 year history. Chris was awarded a PhD for a thesis exploring the development and practice of chaplaincy, resulting in Hospital Chaplaincy in the Twenty-first Century (2nd edition, 2014). He served as president of the College of Health Care Chaplain (2004-2007) and wrote the national chaplaincy guidelines for NHS England in 2015. He continues to be an active researcher and author and in 2019 was made a Visiting Professor at Staffordshire University in pastoral, religious and spiritual care.

Dr Isabela Troya is a Research Fellow at University College Cork and the National Suicide Research Foundation, with recognised expertise in suicide prevention among older adults. She is an applied health researcher and trained Clinical Psychologist, with a focus on mental health in vulnerable populations, including older adults. She has received funding from several national and international agencies for a 3-year fellowship titled Revisiting Suicide Prevention in Later Life: Human-centred approaches in an ageing Ireland. Dr Troya trained and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist and completed an MSc in Global Mental Health in 2016. Her PhD thesis, titled ‘Understanding self-harm behaviour in older adults' was awarded PhD prize of the year (2020) by the UK’s Society for Academic Primary Care.

Joe Dent is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for stroke in the busiest stroke centre in the UK. He currently teaches stroke care to preregistration paramedics at four universities within the UK. Prior to this role he was a Paramedic working in pre hospital medicine for 26 years. He has a very keen interest in educating paramedics in the recognition of stroke by paramedics and is developing this education to those who look after stroke survivors within the chronic and acute phase of their treatment.

Steve Battley is a social care trainer and consultant with experience of working in social care for 30 years. He has worked as a front line carer, a manager and eventually became a Principal Officer in a London Local Authority. Over the past 19 years he has worked as a trainer and consultant, specialising in behaviour, interpersonal communication, team-working and management development.

After many years working as a District Nurse, Clare completed her degree in Tissue Viability and has worked in this field since 2008 both in the hospital and community. Apart from advising and supporting nurses in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, in the assessment and management of complex wounds, a big part of her role is education and driving forward new innovations in wound care. She believes education is key and should be ongoing so nurses continue to ensure delivery of safe, effective and current evidence based care. Despite over 40 years in nursing Clare still strives to add to her portfolio and recently presented a poster at the European Wound Management Association(opens in a new tab) conference in Amsterdam. She is about to embark on a university course on the management of chronic oedema, an area in which she has a special interest in. Her motto; never stop learning.

Amy has worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for over 10 years and recently founded Shore Psychology CIC (a new innovative social enterprise aiming to make trauma treatment more accessible for hard to reach communities). She has become an expert in Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) in Scotland, having led the development of the Enhancing TIP in Scotland: A Toolkit for the Scottish Government, along with contributing to several other TIP initiatives. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is registered with the HCPC. Before training as a Clinical Psychologist, Amy ran her own company (Homes Research and Consultancy) for approximately five years, providing consultancy services to local and national governments across the UK and Europe. A trauma survivor herself, Amy has experience of what it is like to have an undiagnosed trauma reaction, which drives her passion for ensuring that everyone receives timely and appropriate treatment, regardless of their social background.

Karen Leach is a Registered General Nurse with over twenty five years experience of nursing in hospitals, including palliative care in both hospice and with individual clients, and in care homes. She has experience of teaching at University BSc degree level, and also taught on the OCR and BTEC Health and Social Care Courses, as well as Early Years. Karen is currently completing a Masters in Specialist Practice focusing on care of older people.

Louisa has worked within the field of gastrointestinal nursing since 1998. She worked for several years as an endoscopy nurse, before specialising in colorectal cancer. For the last four years she has worked in an NHS Foundation Trust, as a Colorectal Nurse Specialist in both stoma care and colorectal cancer. Helping patients to maintain a good quality of life, and being the patient's advocate, are extremely important parts of her role.

Dr Catherine Millington-Sanders is an experienced clinician with a demonstrated history of working in health, social care and corporate industry. Catherine is a GP and Marie Curie National Clinical Lead for End-of-Life Care (EOLC) and has over 7 years’ experience as a specialty doctor in palliative medicine.

Mark Palmer has worked in the area of fire safety since the mid 90’s. He worked for a leading Fire Extinguisher company, as a Service Engineer, Field Training Manager and is currently Director for Help and Safety at Work Ltd, providing Fire Training and Fire Risk Assessment support to a variety of clients including care homes.

Therese has worked in aged care for around 17 years, starting in the United Kingdom as a personal care assistant. She has won an industry award in 2005 while working as a Recreational Activities Officer for Improvement of Quality of Life for Residents (Aged & Community Services Industry Award). Therese went on to train as an Occupational Therapist and worked in Vocational Rehabilitation for 4 years, before joining Montefiore Homecare in 2014 as Homecare Coordinator.

Helen Ibbotson (CMIOSH) is a highly qualified Health and Safety Practitioner at Safety Wise with over thirty years’ experience. Helen has a particular interest in the provision of care, support and housing for vulnerable people, and in the risks that arise from this provision to carers and support workers. Helen has advised on a wide range of vulnerabilities and the associated risks to workers. Helen is familiar with care and support settings and also in the particular issues which arise when delivering services in people’s own homes, where there is much less control over the environment. Helen has expertise across the range of relevant risks, from cleaning chemicals to electric shock, from infestations to challenging behaviour and always considers risks posed to the service user as well as those affecting the worker.

Emma Hewat is an Independent Dementia and Learning & Development Consultant. As a Dementia specialist, Emma is passionate about improving the lives of those who care for the most vulnerable people in our society by providing programmes of education and learning to the health and social care workforce. Emma is a Dementia Practice Development Coach (DPDC) and specialises in Dementia Care Mapping, Internal Verification and the Mental Capacity Act.

Emma is a director of Autism Wellbeing CIC – a small team of professionals and clinicians united by a desire to find ways for autistic and non-autistic people to collaborate equitably and successfully. Her professional career spans 25 years within social care as a support worker, registered service manager, and in service development and commissioner relationships. Emma is a PhD researcher and has qualifications in community mental health, management, and counselling, and holds a MA in Professional Practice. Emma is chair of the Welsh Government neurodivergence ministerial advisory group. Emma has diagnoses of autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Karen Duggan, Specialist Health Advisor and Dementia Project Manager, works as a specialist manager for MacIntyre with a strategic responsibility for all aspects of health and wellbeing of people MacIntyre support. Karen currently manages MacIntyre’s Dementia Project, which was set up following an Innovation, Excellence and Strategic Development Fund Award. Her background is as a clinical Occupational Therapist and she has specialised in learning disability, brain injury and mental health.

Following qualification at the City University in London, Stuart subsequently undertook further study and work in the fields of Burns, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, Tissue Viability and Intensive Care Nursing, attaining post graduate qualifications in these areas. A move away from the acute care sector saw Stuart in the patient flow unit of the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he operated as the bed manager, responsible for patient allocations. An interest in quality and compliance led Stuart to take on a position as an Aged Care Quality Assessor with the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency where he assessed aged care facilities across Queensland and Northern New South Wales for the Department of Health and Ageing, before taking a position at Blue Care. Whilst with Blue Care Stuart attained an extensive knowledge of the aged care industry, including accreditation processes, funding requirements, human resource management, legislative compliance, best practice clinical care and person-centered approaches. Stuart also completed a Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management with Griffith Business school during this time. An internal move into a position as Principal Continuous Improvement and Quality Advisor across Blue Care saw Stuart provide leadership and expert advice to internal stakeholders on matters relating to client safety, client engagement, accreditation requirements and quality processes as well as related clinical matters. In early 2018 Stuart moved to the position of Senior Manager Clinical Safety and Quality at Bolton Clarke providing leadership and specialist advice to support the organisation's clinical governance and quality improvement framework. Stuart is a current member of AHPRA.

Georgina McNamara, from The UK Sepsis Trust, is a nurse with a background in the care of the acutely ill. She was the first nurse in the UK to work as a Sepsis Nurse Practitioner with a project funded by the National Institute for Healthcare Research, and worked with Dr Ron Daniels, to develop the Sepsis Six. Ron and Georgina, with a team of professionals then undertook a piece of research that demonstrated that patients who received the Sepsis Six within one hour were half as likely to die. She is passionate about making a real difference and reducing mortality through education of the public and health professionals.

Dr. George Bashour, M.D., is a physician, clinical researcher, and MSc candidate in Healthcare Operational Management at the University of Warwick. He has contributed to academic medicine through 19 peer-reviewed publications and has designed and delivered clinical research modules for medical students and resident physicians. His work focuses on improving patient care through available resources. Through his combined expertise in clinical research, medical education, and healthcare management, Dr. Bashour is committed to driving quality improvement projects.
