Dr Sevim Hodge is a Clinical Academic Nurse with a special interest in the care of older adults. Her PhD research focused on acute deterioration in frail older adults in care homes with an emphasis on recognition and response and the use of acute deterioration tools in practice. Her clinical experience includes acute hospital and care home settings. She is also skilled in academic writing, clinical research, literature reviews and project management. Sevim undertook her PhD with the National Institute of Health & Social Care Research, Applied Research Collaboration, East Midlands (NIHR – ARC-EM). She successfully obtained a NIHR award to undertake a MA in Research Methods at the University of Nottingham (completed in 2018).
Partnering with peak health bodies, the design and evaluation of clinical audits under her stewardship have informed national advisory groups.
Dr Azam's leadership in clinical governance has also been instrumental in pioneering health risk assessments and chronic disease management programs national training that uphold the ethos of informed, patient-centric care, embodying best clinical practices and leading to enhanced care for vulnerable populations, including veterans and the elderly.
As a skilled clinician her focus remains on applying clinical evidence to inform risk management, optimise training and improve outcomes for our older populations.
